_Vlad Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 Hello everyone, I want to use the _DateDiff function but in order for that the format must be YYYY/MM/DD. However this will be on a PC that will have other format, how can I convert the format of date from the PC to be compatible with this _DateDiff function? I tried many ways but nothing seems to work out and I don't even have any idea on how to begin this script. Many thanks!
_Vlad Posted February 22, 2020 Author Posted February 22, 2020 The problem is that I have 2 different dates I can randomly setup and _NowCalc or _NowCalcDate functions can't work in my situation.
BrewManNH Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 Unless you know the formats that the dates will be in, there's no way to effectively know what you need to do to make it work. You need to know someway to determine what the format is, just as m/d/y or d/m/y etc. Once you know that, you can set up a regex to format the date so it can be used in _DateDiff. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. AutoBert Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 The func's Stringleft, StringRight and StringMid and operator & should help to do the job.
TheSaint Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 (edited) Query the elements individually, check their state, adjust as needed and combine for what is required for _DateDiff. My memory tells me you should also be able to do a system call to get the current date format and then convert that (if needed) to what is needed for _DateDiff. Just spend a bit of time checking out the relevant sections of the Help file, as I am pretty sure it is all there.
