Sending keys to Edge Chromium

Years ago I used AutoHotKeys to control YouTube video playback under Win7. This approach no longer works under Win10. What I need to do is send single keys (like space) to the Edge browser playing the video so it pauses, rewinds and resumes while I'm working in another program on another monitor. 

Could some kind soul please point me to a script that will get me started?
