Are there any benchmarks?

There are a lot of comparisons of different languages benchmarked against each other doing things like sorting, fractals and other mathy things.

I find AutoIt to be very fast.  How does it compare against other languages like C++, Java, C#, etc.?

Also, what does AutoIt compile to?

Thanks!

..is as fast as Java ( or less ), secure as C# ( or less ), written in C++ ( or ASM ) and compiles to an EXE :P

Very fast, really?

No, AutoIt is slow because fully interpreted (not actually compiled), so not a premium choice for either sorting, fractals or number crunching.

This wonderful site allows debugging and testing regular expressions (many flavors available). An absolute must have in your bookmarks.

I searched on terms like performance, benchmark and speed but couldn't find anything.  Can you tell me the correct term to search for because I would like to read those other threads.

OK, I didn't know that.  Thanks.

I tested a file io interaction with c++ and autoit. The speed was the same (file read etc.). :D

But in general autoit is very slow when it comes to special things and also there is no modern gui theme.

In my opinion you cannot compare autoit to languages like java. AutoIt is here to automate processes with simple syntax.
