Fer0x Posted May 17, 2021 Share Posted May 17, 2021 Hello everyone, I'm trying to automate a process of importing a snapshot into some proprietary software. The task is not difficult, just tedious. Using a combination of BATCH files and some autoit scripting I've narrowed it down to a 4 click process. I would really like to just compile a 1 click script. They way the program works is through CMD: First you navigate to a folder the same batch file is in EX- d: cd xprogram\xprogramhome\run From there you run commands naming the batch file each time EX- xprogramrun windowsservices start <--This would start all services for the program Using xprogramrun you can then import snapshots and make various changes. You can even auto tab complete some things, which is great and this is how I use the Send function to auto tab files in a certain folder that cant be done through the call command in a .bat file. The issue I'm having is that some of the commands I need to run take quite a while to complete and I need to wait for it to finish before running the next tone. RunWait has not worked and sleep is not helpful because import times vary from snap to snap. Is there a way for autoit to know when the CMD window is ready for input again? like wait for the D:\xprogram\xprogramhome\run> _ to start flashing again? Rurorita Posted May 17, 2021 Share Posted May 17, 2021 if your batch script calls processes and returns back to console ("like wait for the D:\xprogram\xprogramhome\run> _") once the process closed then you could use ProcessExists() in Autoit to check for when the process is done. Or you could also use StdoutRead() and StderrRead() to read when "run> _". See the Helpfile on how to use these.
