JImpala
Hi. I'm new to using AutoIt & I'm having some issue with figuring out the syntax for FileCopy & DirRemove. Example would be for FileCopy I am trying to overwrite any file in the destination folder with the file I want to copy to it. However I get an error message "Subscript used on non-accessible variable". FileCopy("C:\Program Files (x86)\Software\Test\pm.properties", "C:\Temp\Software" [, flag = 1] ) I also get the same error when trying to use DirRemove. DirRemove("C:\Temp\software" [, recurse = 1] ) Any assistance would be appreciated.
Moderators Melba23 Posted June 8, 2021 Moderators Share Posted June 8, 2021 JImpala, In the Help file syntax lines, [ ] surround optional parameters. So your 2 lines should read: FileCopy("C:\Program Files (x86)\Software\Test\pm.properties", "C:\Temp\Software", 1) ; or better (so you can remember what it means in the future) FileCopy("C:\Program Files (x86)\Software\Test\pm.properties", "C:\Temp\Software", $FC_OVERWRITE ) ; but then you need to add #include FileConstants.au3 ; at the top of your script DirRemove("C:\Temp\software", 1 ) All clear? Please ask again if not.
