a6000000 Posted Sunday at 06:43 PM Posted Sunday at 06:43 PM ## Error with "Tidy autoit source" v3.3.18.0 :: The console window is being filled with random file or variable names and won't stop for long seconds - {{so the version v3.3.18.0 just caused me stress and work, phew}} ## Last scriptXXX.au3 works ## Uninstalled my old version of AutoIt v3.3.16.1 today, installed the new version of AutoIt v3.3.18.0 in the same folder C:/p/autoit3/ ## Then reinstalled the old version with the previous uninstall, rebooted, but -tools-tidy- still keeps filling up the console window... ## I'll now restore all folders from the backup to the old Autoit + and it'll work again :-) -{{but I don't feel like using newer versions until it's resolved}} #QUESTION: Is this just me? Or is there a workaround to fix it?
Developers Jos Posted Sunday at 07:11 PM Developers Posted Sunday at 07:11 PM There is no Tidy v3.3.18.0. Please provide the version of Tidy when reporting Tidy issue, but my wild guess would be you have a pretty old version that will generate a new table one time and that old version had an issue showing a log message in the console for each found func/macro etc Just let it run and finish, and it should not happen again, or even better use the current Beta version. rudi Posted Monday at 03:57 PM Posted Monday at 03:57 PM (edited) @Jos Is the AU3 custom scite from your signature download page fully compatible with 3.3.18.0? I just right now realized, that I missed your updated version from two years ago 😶 edit: Now I'm really confused: the file version information of the older file is newer? 21.203.1500.3 vs. 21.316.1639.0? Developers Jos Posted Monday at 05:41 PM Developers Posted Monday at 05:41 PM (edited) Not sure i understand what i am looking at. In general are the scite4autoit3 version standalone and compatible with the different version of autoit3 as the autoit3 configuration for scite is delivered withe the autoit3 installer. rudi Posted Tuesday at 11:31 AM Posted Tuesday at 11:31 AM (edited) OK, sorry for the confusion: This is a compare of the stand alone installers downloaded from the autoit home page just yesterday, and just after Autoit v3.3.16.0 (or .1?) was released. I was not aware, that the Autoit Customized SciTE installer is a part of the Autoit3 installer package: I installed it separately so far. was this already fact for 3.3.16.1? After installing autoit v3.3.18.0 > scite.exe > help > Scite "lite" ... entries show up: Is this "less SciTE" then your stand alone SciTE installer, au3 customized? [edit] https://www.autoitscript.com/site/autoit/downloads/ > Autoit 3.3.18.0 description > Editor – A cut down version of the SciTE script editor package to get started. Download the package below for the full version! What happens to the v3.3.18.0 customizations, when I install the much older full custom SciTE editor "over that one"? Developers Jos Posted Tuesday at 11:44 AM Developers Posted Tuesday at 11:44 AM The lite version is simply just the SciTE editor that can do basic things and comes with the AutoIt3 installer. The Full version comes with many extras and is a separate installer. The latest version of the SciTE source is now part of the AutoIt installer, since that was recently updated, The latest full version is available in the Beta directory of SciTE4AutoIt3. I can't put things in production at the moment as I lack Edit access to the webpages after the last forum updates and are waiting for Jon to return from hibernation. rudi Posted Tuesday at 12:54 PM Posted Tuesday at 12:54 PM Thanks for the explanations. So is there a compare sheet between "lite" and "production" (full) SciTE version? Propably all I need is the "lite", but just to know it: If I want to end up with the full SciTE and the latest customizations (definitions) vor v3.3.18.0, how to proceed? Install the latest from SciTE5Autoit -- beta, https://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3/scite/download/beta_SciTE4AutoIt3/?C=M;O=A (how to use the content presented there?) then Autoit Installer 3.3.18.0 afterward? Or just the opposite order? Earth is flat, pigs can fly, and Nuclear Power is SAFE!
Developers Jos Posted Tuesday at 02:18 PM Developers Posted Tuesday at 02:18 PM It will-should always have the latest AutoIt3 definitions when you install the separate SciTE4AutoIt3 version. rudi Posted yesterday at 08:31 AM Posted yesterday at 08:31 AM Thanks for your reply. Does the install order matter? e.g. Autoit 3.3.18.0 (including SciTE Lite with the fitting AU3 definitions) then the full SciTE from the Autoit download area result that should show up this way = newest Autoit + newest definitions + newest SciTE? So NO it should not matter and if it does it like to understand the steps to reproduce the issue.
