Whats the best way to play a file into the microphone? I've been thinking of opening the volume control in recording mode. Making sure the right controls are avalible. Then hiding it. After that it would set the selected input to "What U Hear" or wave and play the file.

Of course there is alwas that hold-the-microphone-to-the-speeker thing but I was wondering if there was an even easier way. Something to recorde the sound more directly.

gamerman2360,

I use PolderbitS Sound Recorder which is not free. But, there are free programs that are almost the same. This is a stand alone program, not a command line program, but I assume it can be controlled using "send" commands. You can download a free trail version.

I think you are looking for a simillar thing which I am looking for. See my topic here.

I think MediaUDF can do it but being a newbie I don't know how. Let's hope some advanced members will give the answer. What I need is recording from a file played by another application.
