PeteW
would like to know what regitry entry is read by @osservicepack regardsI realise this post is months old, but I was looking into something similar... I want to manually reset the XP service pack number. The following registry change - followed by a restart - achieves this. @OSSERVICEPACK & all utils I've tested (e.g. XP's systeminfo) report SP1. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows] ; NB "CSDVersion"=dword:00000200 (hex) means SP2. Set to Service Pack 1 "CSDVersion"=dword:00000100 ; Requires a restart BTW, this automatically changes the 'CSDVersion' text here: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion] to: "CSDVersion"="Service Pack 1" Cheers, Pete.
