Html Disable Tag In Form Using _iebodywritehtml()

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

I am trying to disable a form element on a form that I cannot access the HTML directly as a security measure.

$body = _IEBodyReadHTML($oIE)

$newbody = StringReplace($body, "name=""Add""", "name=""Add"" disabled")
_IEBodyWriteHTML($oIE, $newbody)
This doesn't disable the element - I suspect that maybe this is a security issue in IE - but if this has been implemented, i'd be grateful for any pointers.

...ok. remembered what i have done in javascript before and tried it - works

$o_add = _IEFormElementGetObjByName($o_Form, "Add")

$o_add.disabled = true
If there are any other methods, would still be good to know. cheers Edited by plastix

Your second method is what I would recommend.

Doesn't work needs to be ripped out of the troubleshooting lexicon. It means that what you tried did not produce the results you expected. It begs the questions 1) what did you try?, 2) what did you expect? and 3) what happened instead?

Reproducer: a small (the smallest?) piece of stand-alone code that demonstrates your trouble
