...Okay I wrote Grisoft (makers of AVG) and we'll see what happens:...

Thanks for taking the time to write to AVG about this. Your contact (and perhaps others) seem to have gotten some action. I would still switch to avast.

Search the forum for "AVG" (looking in the title only) and you will see about 13 such posts.

Hi Plato,

You're welcome for the e-mail to AVG. I recall the same thing ocurring in the Inno Setup project another excellent tool I'm involved with. Thanks for the suggestion, I will certainly give it a try. Are there any other Inno Setup fans in here?

Thanks,

Christian Blackburn

Ok, got the newest Scite now. No problems, but I also update my virus defs twice a day.

Manually or via a script?

Hi Plato,

The current version of AVG Free has an update scheduler built into the auto-protection tray icon. Mine just goes once a day in the morning.

Cheers,

Christian

@Christian Blackburn - Thanks for starting this thread and documenting this issue. I use AVG also and have had false positives on other apps. But once AVG is contacted, they do fix the mistake. It's good to be pro-active.

I learn more from reading real problems experienced by users than I do from reading boring documentation.

@herewasplato - Thanks for the info on the new version of SciTe4AutoIt3.

Yeah, but that only allows for once a day... I wonder how Nomad updates twice a day :-)
