Check to see if text is in bold format

Recommended Posts

Topic says it all....is it possible? Need it to check unread email in bold and open it via IE.au3. Thanks.

Even in the AutoIT internal commands, I only see ways to set text attributes, not read them. You can read the text from a control, but I don't see how to get format/attributes. I would also like to know if it can be done with AutoIT GUI's or external windows.

:D

Topic says very little of use, actually.

If you're hitting a public URL, provide it. Can you see HTML source, or are you running some kind of OWA or JRE or Citrix environment?

What have you done, if anything, to see what other elements may indicate "new" or "unread" links?

The issue of identifying bold links in an HTML page is simply a matter of parsing the source for said links; your task will likely be made simpler by the fact that most of these pages use some kind of table to order email information.

Reading the help file before you post... Not only will it make you look smarter, it will make you smarter.

There are several way of obtaining bold text in HTML. These include the <b> tag, the <font> tag and CSS (you'd see this as a class= attribute on a tag that referenced a previously defined CSS style).

All of these can be parsed and discovered in the DOM. The approach you take depends on the particular page and how it is accomplished.

Hi.

This post was my early question before big_daddy provided the link so thanks to big_daddy on tips for this. We can disconitue this topic....

Just out of curiosity, what about outside of HTML and web browsers? Can you read the attributes of a control in the same manner you can read the text/data from it? Something amounting to GuiCtrlGetFont() or GuiCtrlReadStyle()...
