Best way to find text in on a webpage

I'm looking to improve the way my script picks up on text in the chat box of a webpage. I have it set to do things based on what text it finds in the chat window. Right now I'm using:

ClipPut("empty")

sleep(10)

clickchatwindow()

sleep (10)

send("{CTRLDOWN}")

send("a")

sleep (10)

send("c")

send ("{CTRLUP}")

$text = ClipGet()

if StringInStr($text,"blah blah") then

func1()

endfunc

Where clickchatwindow() just clicks an area in the chat window, obviosuly, and func1() just does what I want to happen when "blah blah" is found in the chat window.

My problem is, that sometimes this will not catch the "blah blah" the first time around. (I have it checking the chat window a few times) I want to improve this. Is there any better way to find text on a webpage and use an if statement to do something, like an IE UDF maybe?

That will work, but what about 'WinGetText'?

I only want part of a webpage, not the whole thing. I want to target the chat window frame.

Then look at IE.au3 and use _IEFormElementGetValue
