Hello,

I was wondering if there was a way of adding\editing the secruity settings on folders. I know there is a filesetattrb for files, but is there anyway of editing the folders. Thanks in advance.

Get SetACL.exe and study the help on it. This is a very powerfull tool, but very complex in its comand line format. It will not only edit ACLs and ACEs for files and folders, but shares, registry keys, and printers as well. It will take both local and domain accounts for trustee inputs. :nuke:

The SetACL.exe program is GPL by Helge Klein, I don't know if that's the Helge we know and love from the AutoIT Forums or not... :P

The more generic command based CACLS utility can be found in recent versions of Windows. Docs at Microsoft are awful, but it should do the job without having to deploy yet another program.
