OwenWatson Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 I'm wondering whether there's any value on a PC that is reasonably unique to that PC. I had a look at the mac address but that's a bit difficult to extract. A registry value that could be expected in all PCs W2K+ and sorta unique would be good. Not high security, just some security. . .
JaySquared Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 RegRead("HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Registration","ProductID") Will return the Product ID of windows which in THEORY should be fairly unique. Aha.. I have unlocked it's secrets.. world domination is within my grasp...
sohfeyr Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 http://www.autoitscript.com/forum/index.ph...;hl=mac+addressuse the MAC address - Windows might get pirated, or you might have a site license or something like that, but who clones NICs? Mine:Time Functions - Manipulate the system clock! | WinControlList (WinGetClassList++) | .Net Setup Wrapper, Detect or install .Net | Writing and using a VB .NET COM object in AutoItNot mine, but highly recommended:AutoItTreeViewExtension plugin | Menu code | Callback helper dll | Auto3Lib - Control the uncontrollable | Creating COM objects in AutoIt | Using .Net framework classes in AutoIt
