kzar Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Hi I am trying to automate an installer using an autoit script. The problem I am having is the installer opens two windows both with the same title. The first window is just to fill the screen and the other one contains the buttons I need to press. What would be a good reliable way to rename / handle the full-screen window so that it doesn't interfear? (I know to use WinSetTitle to change the name but I don't know a reliable way to switch to the right window and then switch back) Thanks, David
Uten Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 ControlsSend and ControlClick. Use au3info.exe to get the names or ID's of the controls to work on. Please keep your sig. small! Use the help file. Search the forum. Then ask unresolved questions :) Script plugin demo, Simple Trace udf, TrayMenuEx udf, IOChatter demo, freebasic multithreaded dll sample, PostMessage, Aspell, Code profiling
CoePSX Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Compare the window sizes. The full screen one is always going to be bigger than the one you want to automate. Get a handle to the smaller one and there you go.
You seem to have a habit of putting things in the wrong place. herewasplato Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Don't just match on window title,Window text is a parameter on just about any of the Win... and Control... functions. ..
