Can't get images displayed when using _IEDocWriteHTML. Any suggestions what's wrong ?

#include <IE.au3>

$Results = '<HTML><HEAD></HEAD><BODY><P>This picture will not show ! <IMG SRC="pic.gif">'

$Results = $Results & '<P> Neither will this one ! <IMG SRC="C:\pic.gif"></BODY></HTML>'

$oIE = _IECreate ()

_IEDocWriteHTML ($oIE, $Results)

_IEAction ($oIE, "refresh")

Any other suggestions ?

I not really certain why that isn't working, however, switch to just writing the body with _IEDocWriteHTML and you should be OK.

Doesn't work needs to be ripped out of the troubleshooting lexicon. It means that what you tried did not produce the results you expected. It begs the questions 1) what did you try?, 2) what did you expect? and 3) what happened instead?

Reproducer: a small (the smallest?) piece of stand-alone code that demonstrates your trouble

Dale, if I just write the body, it won't work either. A mystery to me.

#include <IE.au3>

$Results = 'This picture will still not show ! <IMG SRC="pic.gif">'

$Results = $Results & '<P> Neither will this one ! <IMG SRC="C:\pic.gif">'

$Results = $Results & '<P> Nor this one ! <IMG SRC="C:\\pic.gif">'

$oIE = _IECreate ()

_IEDocWriteHTML ($oIE, $Results)

_IEAction ($oIE, "refresh")

Oh, very sorry -- my bad. I meant to use _IEBodyWriteHTML -- then this line should work:

$Results = $Results & '<P> Neither will this one ! <IMG SRC="C:\pic.gif">'

Dale, you're right. _IEBodyWriteHTML works indeed.

Strange enough, it works only briefly as the _IEAction (Refresh) wipes the screen blank.

If I look at the source of the HTML screen it has only <HTML></HTML> ?

I can probably just drop the _IEAction(refresh) as workaround.

Correct, dynamic HTML changes will not survive a refresh.
