_IELinkGetCollection Question

Recommended Posts

I want to get a random link out of a _IELinkGetCollection.

This is the code so far:

$oLinks = _IELinkGetCollection ($oIE);get all the links in the page
 $iNumLinks = @extended; count 'em
 $getalink =Random(1,$iNumlinks,1)

Then what? I had thought that $oLinks was an array but it does not seem to be.

A collection is similar to an array, but not the same.

Another call to _IELinkGetCollection using a random index as the second parameter should get you what you want. Just remember that the index is 0-based (just like AutoIt arrays) to it goes from 0 to $iNumLinks - 1

Doesn't work needs to be ripped out of the troubleshooting lexicon. It means that what you tried did not produce the results you expected. It begs the questions 1) what did you try?, 2) what did you expect? and 3) what happened instead?

Reproducer: a small (the smallest?) piece of stand-alone code that demonstrates your trouble
