Could someone explain the differences between a List and ListView? When would you use each?

I am making a slideshow program. I want the user to be able to add picture files to a list (or listview) and then go through that list and process each file and add it to the show.

Which one would I use in this case?

Thanks in advance!

Your best bet for questions like this is to run the demo script in the help file for the function you are interested in. Run the demos for GuiCtrlCreateList() and GuiCtrlCreateListView(). You'll see differences right away, and get a little practice using them in the process. The first difference you will see is that ListView supports multiple columns.
