reading text from a screen shot?

I think i saw someone write a program, to read from a screen shot, for some time ago. Does anyone know where it is? I think it just could read the text in the screen. I want to use it in game, so i just can write commands to my bot.

Hope someone knows where it is or know another one Else how to write it. Or where to start writing it.
