How do you pronounce "SciTe" ?

I always pronounced it "Sigh - Tee - Ee". The first part is from "Scintilla", but I pronounced it as if from "SciFi".

Its not the way I'd say it but it struck me a while ago that in some languages the "sc" could be pronounced "Sh"

Its simplest to say "skite" which is Australian for "boast" but I

tend to soften the "s" towards "shkite" due to the derivation from

"shit".
