RobertKipling
How do you set the background image with a JPG (or HTML) file from Windows, where the Desktop Properties dialog box is unavailable? Is it in the registry (I hope not, it may be banned too) or accessible with AutoIt?

corz
You could always send an image to IrfanView, using the /wall=X switch, e.g.. I_VIEW32.EXE "W:\media\wallpaper\Widescreen\glassorbs.jpg" /wall=1 Everyone has IrfanView installed, right? ;o) (or nothing is foolproof to the sufficiently talented fool.. RobertKipling
Just downloaded IrfanView. This program should be enough, the explanation is more than decent. Thank you. Opt("WinTitleMatchMode",2) $mywin = Run("Y:\irfanview\i_view32.exe Y:\abc.png /wall=0", "",@SW_HIDE) WinClose($mywin) MsgBox(0,"","Done.") corz
Darn! I wish I'd refreshed the page before posting! Anyway, ashley, let's pretend that you didn't read Lar's post, and clicked my link, thinking that I was spoon-feeding you the answer, and then BANG! You are at google, seeing the foolishness of your ways. It's a more subtle approach, I find, to let folk be foolish in private! ;o) (or nothing is foolproof to the sufficiently talented fool.. tAKTelapis
For future reference, There is a reason the background tab has been disabled, Its so you don't set a background. If it is disabled, you should probably just leave it alone and go back to your work, And learn something that will help you get a job later on in life. RobertKipling
Actually, everything display-wise has been disabled. (Not fun.) Learning to change the background image is nothing more than child's play compared to real programming tasks, of course, but nonetheless is useful.
