Viewing what Ctrl + Z will do...

As ubiquitious as Ctrl+Z is for undo, not all programs use it. For those that do, more often than not, the actions are usually stored either in RAM, or on disk somewhere, or a combination of the two. You're in the field of wild speculation here, since not all programs perform alike. One can re-bind the "undo" key, further complicating the matters, so...
