It can tell you a lot about what a program is doing as you run it. I would defiantly recommend OllyDbg and a hex editor (google hex editor, I use hex workshop) if you are serious about getting into pieces of how your program runs and possibly retrieving it's basic program flow and working. Again you should try googling "autoit decompiler" this seems liek it can yield some worth while results.
