Hosts file and Hotmail

Hi guys

I am editing my workplace hosts files to remove unwanted time wasting websites but I am am having probelms banning hotmail. I have edited the HOSTS file with:

127.0.0.1 www.hotmail.com

But people get around this by visiting http://live.com/ . I am unsuccessful at banning this and I think the probelm is that the url doesnt have 'www' as a prefix. Links like 'http://home.live.com/?mkt=en-au' get past the system.

tried entries like

127.0.0.1 *live.com

127.0.0.1 *.live.com

127.0.0.1 *.home.live.com

Can anyone give me an idea how to block this site ?
