I've used small shareware program called docprint pro v3.3. You can go to the website:

I got the $79 dollar version which has a command line interface that works well with autoit! It is very functional but not the fastest program. You have options to controll compression, resolution,...

here is the line of code that I use to do the conversion:

RunWait('C:\Program Files\docPrint Pro v3.3\doc2pdf -D -d -b 1 -r 300 -c 4 -i "' & $pathin & $filein & '" -o "' & $pathconverted & $fileout & '".tif')
