Hiding Directories

Recommended Posts

I bet this has been asked like, a hundred times, but how do you hide a folder or file? My program is going to save "last used" and "last saved" files into a folder, but I want to make either the folder OR the files them selves hidden. like, in the "properties" window, it says "Read-Only" and "Hidden"

You can do it via registry settings, but I'm not sure if you need to log out and back in for the settings to apply.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced]
"Hidden"=dword:00000000
("Hidden"=dword:00000000 = Hide, "Hidden"=dword:00000001 = Show)

Surely you can translate the above to an autoit format on your own. :)
