Hello,

I would like to get either the value or text of the selected item of a html combobox on a web page

first try doesn't work, afaik this applies only to controls created by autoit

$selection = _GUICtrlComboBox_GetCurSel($hWnd)

and my other try doesn't work neither

$selection = _ControlCommand($window, "", "[Class:Internet Explorer_TridentCmboBx;Instance:1]", "GetCurrentSelection", "")

any advice?

thanks and happy coding

Webpages don't expose standard windows controls.

If using IE, see the IE Management UDF and _IEFormElementOptionselect

Doesn't work needs to be ripped out of the troubleshooting lexicon. It means that what you tried did not produce the results you expected. It begs the questions 1) what did you try?, 2) what did you expect? and 3) what happened instead?

Reproducer: a small (the smallest?) piece of stand-alone code that demonstrates your trouble
