directions please, i'm lost

What I am attempting to do is set up a script for moving certain folders. I have an array (which contains a list of exceptions), and want to check through a certain directory and where the folder within that directory is not a member of the array, move it, if it is in the array, do nothing. This should check through every file in the directory and then stop.

I am quite new to this, and would really like a push in the right direction !!
