themax90 Posted December 25, 2004 Author Posted December 25, 2004 ok i will agree black, they are pretty much equal, but I prefer c++ because it does not require a runtime environment. Plus you can add security. But opinions are opinions
b14ck Posted December 25, 2004 Posted December 25, 2004 Um... One of Java's strongpoints is security and encapsulation. I threw this code together a while back while I was bored but I could easily turn this thing into a Hummer. -I am the giver of life and the bringer of death.
tuape Posted December 25, 2004 Posted December 25, 2004 Yah... That was a good way to put it. Java is pretty much an "equal" of C++, both are OOP, both are portable, etc.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Try to access the file system in embedded environment, use communication mechanisms (like IR/BT) or try to access native (windows or other) API. If you still think C++ and java are equal I'll code in VB.
Guest Guidosoft Posted December 25, 2004 Posted December 25, 2004 (edited) One of C++ strong holds is that it don't require much shit to run on. It's almost assembly. But not really. What I mean is, you tell windows everything to do through the DLLS and Windows API. The only reason why you have some funcs to start out with is because of the pre-written include files. "I'll code in VB. idiot.gif" What's wrong with vb? Edited December 25, 2004 by Guidosoft
b14ck Posted December 25, 2004 Posted December 25, 2004 You really need to learn about Java. *sigh* -I am the giver of life and the bringer of death.
Guest Guidosoft Posted December 25, 2004 Posted December 25, 2004 look man, I would like to try java but last time i did this is what happened: THE IDE WAS SO FUCKING SLOW!!!! THE COMPILATION WAS SO FUCKING SLOW!!!!! IT REQUIRED AN EXTERNAL PLATFORM AND IT WAS SOOO SLOW!!!! IT DIDN'T LOOK LIKE NORMAL WINDOWS CONTROLS!!!!! THE EXECTUABLES ARE SOOOO SLOW!!!!!!! There.
b14ck Posted December 25, 2004 Posted December 25, 2004 There are many JIT compilers that speed up the process... -I am the giver of life and the bringer of death.
b14ck Posted December 25, 2004 Posted December 25, 2004 Google maybe? -I am the giver of life and the bringer of death.
