Detect image on desktop

Hallo again,

I'm about to write a script which basically pops up a message on screen, when the windows update shield appears in the system tray. Originally, my script just looked for the WUAUCLT.EXE process - but this isn't effective because this process appears in the task manager when the download is happening in the background (but no shield).

Is there a way I can search for the shield image on the desktop and warn if it's found? What functions should I be looking at?

Search for OCR (also on this forum). I never used it but i think this is what u need muttley
