Text to speech initialization

Recommended Posts

I have a text to speech function setup. Problem is, the very first run of the text to speech there is a delay (3-5 sec.), afterwards the text to speech runs immediately. Is there something I can do in the declaration of the object or something to make sure in the very first run there is no delay?

It's just Autoit lag, there isn't a way to fix it... I'm pretty sure

For those who are asking questions, look in the help file first. I'm tired of people asking stupid questions about how to do things when 10 seconds in the help file could solve their problem.

They already have a punishment system for abuse.
... and his his name is Valik.
www.minikori.com

Create the SAPI object before you need it, so it's already available before the first call to speak.

:P

It is created before the need....long before the need. I create all my objects at the top after the includes. As of now I think Minikori is right. My only other solution, unless someone gives me a better idea, is to silently run something through the text to speech at the start, that way when I actually invoke a function that uses it, it will play immediately.
