HiSoftDev Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 can i install windows xp with autoit? after this windows installation will be not a problem to install by myself because all the buttons and keys will be sent by AutoIt Script. i saw a windows "Crystal XP" which uses the autoit script for its automation but it's different then xp. if anyone can help me then it would be appreciated a lot. thanks for reading my post.
flxfxp Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 you might want to look into nlite for windows installation. Google it
ChromeFan Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 (edited) Welcome To Forums, you can create a script to send Keys and click buttons for automating windows installation but you need to run this file during the start of installation. you can do it by pressing the Shift+F10 while installing windows, it will open command prompt and Voila now you can run any file using dos like Your Script.but if you don't want to use autoit and just want to get your problem solved then there is a very great software better then nLite which can do whatever you want to automate. give it a try...Almeza MultiSet - Leader in Unattended Installation of Windows and Software!More about this program: http://www.almeza.com/ also look at this link to get more help : http://unattended.sourceforge.net/ Edited September 10, 2008 by ChromeFan Website: www.cerescode.comForum: www.forum.cerescode.comIRC: irc.freenode.net , Channel: #Ceres--------------------Autoit Wrappers, Great additions to your script (Must See) (By: Valuater)Read It Befor Asking Question Click Here...--------------------Join Monoceres's Forums http://www.monoceres.se--------------------There are three kinds of people: Those who make things happen, those who watch things happen, and those who ask, What happened? HiSoftDev Posted September 10, 2008 Author Posted September 10, 2008 @ ChromeFan thanks for the information and welcome i will use autoit because i am interested in doing it myself but the program is also very good and helpful. thanks once again. now only i need to know if it is possible to run my script automatic without going into DOS.
flxfxp Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 you can also do that with nlite, you can configure the installation process itself to be unattended. No special keypresses required. And you can configure post install commands, when xp has fully booted for the first time. And best of all, Almeza MultiSet, its free http://www.nliteos.com
