Send("{a down}") but with a variable for "a"

would like to send a keydown press....

but use a variable like this

$var=chr(65)
send($var&{down})

can it be done.

Why would the Numeric pad 4 be different from the "normal" 4 ?

Or are you talking about the keyboardscancodes?

keypad 4 down using std method

keypad 4 up using keyboardscancode, i think (not an expert on this) or similar means. not going to use the code like it is, but would like to get this test script working if poss
