WinTitleMatchMode in function?

Hi,

I´d like to find various windows with WinExists. For each window, there might be a different (externally configurable) title match mode set. In my function, I set the WinTitleMatchMode to a valid value but it seems like it is not used:

Func process_program($matchMode, $wintitle)
    AutoItSetOption("WinTitleMatchMode", $matchMode)
    If (WinExists($wintitle)) Then
        MsgBox(0, "Debug", "Window found!")
    EndIf
EndFunc

Instead, I discover the default behavior.

Is it not possible to set the option within a function, can the option only be set once or am I just too stupid to rtfm?

Thanks,

Rob

RobOtter,

I have just tested your code and it works fine for me. Are you sure that you are matching the "mode" to the "section of title" you are looking for?

I would also suggest that you save the previous mode when you set your new mode and then reset it afterwards:

Func process_program($matchMode, $wintitle)
    $old_matchMode = AutoItSetOption("WinTitleMatchMode", $matchMode)
    If (WinExists($wintitle)) Then
        MsgBox(0, "Debug", "Window found!")
    EndIf
    AutoItSetOption("WinTitleMatchMode", $old_matchMode)
EndFunc

Otherwise you might end up wondering why window functions in the rest of your script do not work!

Thanks for your answer. Strangely enough, it also works for me today (where it wasn´t yesterday, without any changes afair) - must have been some freaky joke by Murphy :)

Good point, I will account for that.

Thanks,

Rob
