Moderators Melba23 Posted March 10, 2009 Moderators Share Posted March 10, 2009 netbadbug,First, welcome to the AutoIt forums. When you post here it always helps if you have had a go at solving your problems beforehand. Having some code to work on is a great help - and no-one here is too keen to help the "code it for me" brigade.Reading the Help file (at least the first few sections - Using AutoIt, Tutorials and the first couple of References) will help you enormously. You should also look at the excellent tutorials that you will find here and here. Using the Search facility is also a good tip as there is a pretty good chance your question (or part of it) has been asked before. Look for the "Search" button to the right in the title bar.; ---Some pointers that may help you make a start on your project:Look at how the initial GUICtrlCreateTreeView and subsequent GUICtrlCreateTreeViewItem commands work together to create a tree. As you have indicated, you will need to structure your ini file carefully to get the right results. Perhaps you might like to try something like this:[Parents] Parent1=Tom Parent2=Dick Parent3=Harry [Tom] ChildName1=Pugh ChildName2=Pew [Dick] ChildName1=Barney McGrew ChildName2=Cuthbert [Harry] ChildName1=Dibble ChildName2=GrubbSuch a structure would let you use IniReadSection to get the data easily into Autoit created arrays - which you could use with For...Next loops to create your tree without too much difficulty.Give it a try yourself and see how you get on. If you run into problems - post your code and explain what is not right.
