squishyalt
I have installed AutoIt3 (versio 3.3.0.0) and SciTE (version 1.78) but I am unable to follow the simple example at MakeUseOf.My SciTE install has an issue for which I can find no resolution when searching the forums here.AU3Recorder does NOT show up in the Tools menu for SciTE...I have uninstalled them both and reinstalled them TWICE. I have checked, and AU3Record.exe is located in C:\Program Files\AutoIt3\SciTE\ScriptWriter as it should be.You'll also notice that my SciTE is missing many of the options shown in the MakeUseOf tutorial, even though I have followed the instructions to the letter. His Tool menu looks like this... What am I doing wrong here?
Moderators Melba23 Posted July 10, 2009 Moderators Share Posted July 10, 2009 squishyalt, Most of the SciTE 'Tools' menu items only open when a saved file is active. Try opening a previously used file or save the current blank file to disk. I think you will find that the items you are looking for will appear on the menu. AdmiralAlkex
To clarify what Melba said, you need to have a au3 script loaded for the AutoIt tools to show up. .Some of my scripts: ShiftER, Codec-Control, Resolution switcher for HTC ShiftSome of my UDFs: SDL UDF, SetDefaultDllDirectories, Converting GDI+ Bitmap/Image to SDL Surface
Moderators Melba23 Posted July 10, 2009 Moderators Share Posted July 10, 2009 AdmiralAlkex, I thought my explanation was quite clear - but thank you for the tautological post! AdmiralAlkex
@Melba23 Maybe it's just me but you seemed a little vague. You said "saved file" which to me COULD mean anything that SciTE can open, like txt-files. Hence I thought it was good to provide a shorter and more clear answer to squishy's question. I hope you didn't mind Besides my explanation was shorter .Some of my scripts: ShiftER, Codec-Control, Resolution switcher for HTC ShiftSome of my UDFs: SDL UDF, SetDefaultDllDirectories, Converting GDI+ Bitmap/Image to SDL Surface

squishyalt
Thanks to you both! The menu options showed up when I created and saved a new AU3 file. Edited July 12, 2009 by squishyalt
