[SOLVED] GUI OnEvent Mode, prevent from exiting at end

Hi everyone

I've written a simple GUI for a batch processing script, it's a wrapper for a command line utility and it works well.

What's the best way of preventing the GUI from closing at the end of the script, once it hits the Exit statement?

Once my batch processing loop has finished, I'd like to keep the GUI idling until my exit button or window close are pressed.

I've got this at the moment...

While 1
Sleep(1000)
WEnd

Is this the recommended method and recommended delay?

Cheers, B

If there's an exit command in the script, it's going to exit. The only way to prevent that is to remove the Exit.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Here's how I would approach it. The example below will keep the gui open even after the exit button is pushed until the cmd.exe window closes.

#include <GUIConstants.au3>

$Form1 = GUICreate("Form1", 633, 447)
GUISetState(@SW_SHOW)
ShellExecute(@DesktopDir & "MyBatchFile.bat")

While 1
    $nMsg = GUIGetMsg()
    Switch $nMsg
        Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
            While WinExists("C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe")
                Sleep(1000)
            WEnd
            Exit
    EndSwitch
WEnd
