    There might be several reasons why a registry key cannot be written to. This example script will "Check Access" to a registry key. Perhaps it can help you determine if it's an access problem or something else. Full description is at the bottom of the script. Tested on WinXPx32 and Win7x64. Download Script _WMI_RegKey_CheckAccess.zip .
