Hi,

Here a new application, which comes handy to Windows 7 AeroSnap lovers, but who cannot run Windows 7. 7Snap will snap windows, like in Windows 7, when you hit the margins of your desktop.

Still, there are a lot to add, but is is usable in this stage.

Download : 7Snap download

Criticism and suggestions are welcomed !

Just a question, who cannot run windows seven? It runs on the same resources as win XP.

I'm not open-sourcing it right now, maybe in future.

About Windows 7, it needs, like Vista, at least 512 MB of RAM to run. To run 7 smoothly, you need at least 1 GB of RAM. XP needs at least 128 MB of RAM to run, or more to run smoothly.

@Offtopic : That's weird, because i'm also using Kaspersky as an AV. Maybe is UPX compression. Update your AV and then re-download. I post an image so you see it does let me download it :D

If you want to be specific then it's Windows 7, without the dash.

Most people I see call it win 7.

The requirements i found run them best are:

vista: 2 gigs ram (smoothest) 1 gig min

XP: 512 to 1 gig (smoothe) 250 - 512 min

Win 7: 1gig - 2gigs (smothe) 512 min

the computer i am on has no graphics card, and runs faster with win 7 than it ever did on XP, but cannot run vista (Waayy to slow)

Hi,

first of all an upx-packed exe inside a 7z archive which is inside a zip-file is a litte bit suspicious. Checking your exe File using Virustotal:

File 7Snap.exe received on 2009.09.07 11:07:55 (UTC)

Current status: Loading ... queued waiting scanning finished NOT FOUND STOPPED

Result: 4/41 (9.76%)

4 scanners found this file harmful (E.g. signature of W32/Autorun.worm.zf.gen found).

No, I won't run this file.

Regards Paul

It's your choice if you run it or not. And yeah, the executable is UPXed and the archive was created with 7-Zip. Anyway, i think i reached a dead-end and the project will be abandoned.
