Hi there,

_SoundLength will work with all files that have their length set in the Windows properties. If the file is an .mp3 - and the Windows length property is not set - the function tries to get a length value in the following order: a Xing header for VBR-encoded files, a TLEN ID3 tag, the length returned by MCIDLL (which is often wrong because it assumes everything is CBR-encoded).

So if your .mid file has the correct length set in the Windows properties, _SoundLength should return it. If not, all bets are off unless you want to write the equivalent to the cascade above for .mid files. :)
