this may seem like a stupid question, and apparently im retarded at searching because i can't seem to find an answer. i'm pretty new to autoit and i am testing my script and there are no syntax errors in my script but my program seems to get stuck. I was wondering if there is anything i can do to see exactly which line my program is stuck on.

thanks

labuski,

First, welcome to the AutoIt forums. :)

Your solution is simple: put some MsgBoxes or ConsoleWrites at various points in your script so you can track how far it has got. If you have the full SciTE version, this can be done fairly easily - if not then Copy-Paste is your friend. Just remember that the @ScriptLineNumber macro can be very helpful here. ;) The script could be hanging up in a loop, or at a WinWait (or something similar) - those might be good places to start looking.

If all this fails (which it shoudl not), post your code so someone can take a look. If you post some code please use Code tags. Put [autoit ] before and [/autoit ] after your posted code (but omit the trailing space - it is only there so the tags display here).
