Aye guys, just wondering if it was possible to get text from an image. I've heard of OCR everywhere, but don't exactly know how you would do it. If anyone knows how, could you post an example that would do OCR on an image that you chose? Thanks.

GUI.

It seems we are back to the Captcha issue again and you were already given a definitive answer on that subject.

It actually wasn't for a captcha, there was a picture which was the date on a website, that had the time, and I wanted to get it's text ( The time passsed ) and add it into a status bar. Do not assume things based on your own opinion, or from a 'previous post'.

Based on this sample I wrote a time ago

http://www.autoitscript.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=66545

and the links mentioned in the article you should be able to get a bitmap into a string and based on the stringvalue you can easily recognize straight forward text in one specific font

1. Take a bitmap from for example the 1 (will give you a string of about 8*8 pixels * 3 is about string length of 256)

2. Compare it with a baseline of strings you have to define once for all 0-9 and :
