Managing Windows with changing title

4 posts in this topic

Dear All,

I need to open a window and act on its controls. Everything is working as long as I hard code the window title. The problem is that this window opens with a different title depending on the device is connected to, so I can not hard code its title. Is there a way I can still use this AutoIT so that I can access the controls independently from the title?

Thanks a lot

Best regards,

Nicola

nmontec,

Read the page in the the Help file under <Using AutoIt - Windows Titles and Text (Advanced)>. You will find out there how to identify windows using other things than titles and text - despite the name of the page.

The AU3Info tool is a good way of getting much of this info, by the way. ;)

Thanks for replying, I found the chapter you refer to, I went through FAQ and Tutorials, but I had overlooked this.

nmontec,

Yes, the Help file can seem a bit too big at times! ;)

Come back if you have any problems.
