Monitoring a data transfer

Hello AutoIt fans!

I have a question regarding monitoring of data transfer, and I have no idea if it is possible to do it using autoit.

Here is an example of the scenario I would like to automate:

1/ Start a data transfer to/from a ftp server or a web site (I know how to do that)

2/ The data transfer stops for some time, although the connection to the ftp/web site is active (I don't want to automate this, it is just a "use case", it can happen)

3/ After the data transfer has been inactive for x seconds, show a MsgBox (this is what I would like to automate)

Is that even possible using AutoIt?
