Closing Child windows

Recommended Posts

I am currently just sending CTRL-F4 to the application to close any child windows. The software does not like me doing that ONE bit! Is there a command to actually click the "X" in the upper right corner of a window to close it? It looks like the winclose winfunction just sends an CTRL-F4 command like I am already doing.

r3dlined,

Perhaps if you used WinGetPos to locate the top-right corner, add/subtracted a few pixels in the relevant direction and then used MouseClick to hit the [X]?

Works for me: :D

; Open Notepad
Run("Notepad.exe")
WinWaitActive("[CLASS:Notepad]")

$aPos = WinGetPos("[CLASS:Notepad]")

$iX = $aPos[0] + $aPos[2] - 20
$iY = $aPos[1] + 10

MouseClick("left", $iX, $iY, 1, 0)

I would try using EnumChildWindows and use WinClose and WinKill on each one in the callback function.
