aut2exe

I wonder why I sometimes when I'm compiling scripts keep having the error:

"Error: Error opening the destination file"

But if I try sometimes more it always end up working.

Is this just a bug or is there anything I can do different?

I'm using: "Aut2Exe v3 - AutoIt Script to EXE Converter"

PhilipG,

The most common cause of this error is having a previous version of the compiled exe already running so that the new version cannot be written to disk. :D

Another cause can be trying to write to protected folders (if you use Vista or Win 7).

Either of those sound possible?

Well i Might have had it running, but in that case it was running from a different folder. so that shouldn't be a problem, am I right?

PhilipG,

No, that should not cause the error as it is not the same path - unless you are using the #AutoIt3Wrapper_OutFile= directive to create the exe in the same folder as the running version.

I have been searching the forum and there appear to be occasional errors of this type that "just happen". So I am afraid there seems little anyone can do to prevent it - and at least you can usually compile after a retry. :D
