Hi guys i have created a script for a simple program VLC it works just fine the automation is perfect. but how can i make the setup screen dissapear like those done by the Sfxmaker software. i dont want to see the setup screens going automatically. is there a way that after creating the scrtipt i double click it and it installs silently(without any setup screens) like that posted on the net or made by the SFXmaker. Plss Help??

I'm not sure if I got it correctly. Do you want to install VLC or your program silently?

If it's VLC, and the /S parameter won't match your needs, consider working with the files from the ZIP instead.

Maybe I missed something, though.

If you run the install program then set the window state to @SW_HIDE using WinSetState, I believe you can still use OLE automation to get through the dialogues.

You could e.g. wait for a certain windows to exist, then hide it.

Very simple example:

Opt("wintitlematchmode",2)
winwait("Firefox","")

WinSetState("Firefox","",@sw_hide)
sleep(5000)
WinSetState("Firefox","",@sw_show)

For popup windows, get the windows handle or class name instead of the title. Autoit help for WinSetState has quite a lot of useful hints (and hyperlinks).

Most installers have a silent install option, all you have to do is figure out whose installer it is and use the proper switch. Try /Q, /silent, /s

Also if you Google it there is a forum site dedicated to silent installs. If I come across where I have the link I'll post it.
