Disable touchpad while typing

On a laptop you can press Fn+F7 or some similar combination to disable the touchpad. What im trying to do is create a scrip that would do similar while im typing, but re-enable it after say 5 seconds after im done typing.

The laptop is an acer, using the synaptics driver running windows 7. When you press the button green text comes up similar to the volume controls, so im guessing it just hooks into some DLL or something and flicks a switch.

I dont know much about programming, but if someone could help point me in the right direction i would appreciate it.
