jer Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 When using DriveSpaceFree to get the free space of a blank CDR or CD-RW, DriveSpaceFree returns 0. However, Windows reports 702MB free in Explorer. What am I missing?
somdcomputerguy Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Is the disc formatted? - Bruce /*somdcomputerguy */ If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
jer Posted April 4, 2010 Author Posted April 4, 2010 I am running XP and using it's native burn capabilities. Format is not an option in properties.
jer Posted April 4, 2010 Author Posted April 4, 2010 I copied one file to my CD-R media using XP,s native burn process. I then ran a test script which contained DriveSpaceFree and DriveGetFileSystem. DriveGetFileSystem correctly reported a fs of CDFS. However, DriveSpaceFree reports free space of 0 and @error = 0. In Windows Explorer, Windows reports 665MB free. Is it possible that DriveSpaceFree does not handle CD-R / CD-RW correctly?
