Com Port format

4 posts in this topic

hello everyone.

I am going to have to ask something that was covered in the past, I have search and search here and google but I am just not putting in the proper input to find it.

Ok, I have built a script that reads from a USB GPS, I want to use com30 but I can not remember the way it needs to be entered when above com15. It is //.//com30 or //..//com30, I just can not remember.

If anyone can help that would be great.

thanks in advance and sorry for repeating a question.

You didn't mention how you are accessing the poprts. In case it is relevant to anyone who reads this thread, if you are using the commg udf then you just use the port number as a parameter, ie 30 in damon's case.

Serial port communications UDF Includes functions for binary transmission and reception.printing UDF Useful for graphs, forms, labels, reports etc.Add User Call Tips to SciTE for functions in UDFs not included with AutoIt and for your own scripts.Functions with parameters in OnEvent mode and for Hot Keys One function replaces GuiSetOnEvent, GuiCtrlSetOnEvent and HotKeySet.UDF IsConnected2 for notification of status of connected state of many urls or IPs, without slowing the script.

sorry,

I am using

$ComOpen = fileopen("\\.\com" & $ComPortRead, 4)

fileread ($ComOpen, 500)

I was just using com "30" as an example.
